I worked on Palia for 3 years, from pre-alpha to full release on PC and switch . I made the facial rig that drives each and every character’s head animation, as well as the tools and systems that support it.
My role was senior technical artist with focus on pipeline and tools.
I was the animation supervisor for Dragon Front from High-Voltage Software - a strategy card collecting game for the Occulus Rift and Gear VR.
For "They Live to DESTROY!" I designed the base animation set, used as a template by outsourced artists, as well as contributed additional in-game animation.
Highlight of some of the tech art work I’ve done for Palia
School of Fish was created in Unity in search of a stylized, reductive way to express and control the motion of swarms at runtime.
A little bit of fish-empathy and vector arithmetic is all that's needed to recreate the rules governing the motion of each individual. Repeated in large numbers these behaviors form fascinating emergent patterns - swirls and ripples, swishes, curls and swells.
Paintable Surface, a flexible and intuitive Unity component, lets players leave their mark on any mesh!
Drawing inspiration from professional painting and sculpting tools like Zbrush and Mudbox, Paintable Surface brings the joy of embellishment and vandalism into game environments.
I had the honor of collaborating with Marco Tempest on this innovative act.
Working with Maya and Unity, I’ve created the “Pilot” file which formed the base of the drones choreography, as well as governed the landing and take-off scheduling and in-air collision prevention system.
With dreamy-dark and colorful art by Yotam Cohen, Cogito lures the player into a deceivingly simple memory exercise with promises of cognitive optimization.
But something sinister lurks at the edges of the player’s field of vision, and the deeper you follow Cogito down the path the more you can’t help but wonder if perhaps it’s the game that’s using you, and not the other way around….
